Gaviscon Extra Strength lemon tablets bring fast, soothing and long lasting relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and acid indigestion. They are used to treat gastric reflux (a condition in which the acid stomach contents flow upwards into the foodpipe) and related disorders such as hiatus hernia and reflux oesophagitis (inflamed foodpipe). They can also be used to treat regurgitation and to relieve flatulence caused by gastric reflux. They belong to a group of medicines called reflux suppressants.
These tablets are sugar free and gluten free. You can take this product if you are pregnant or breast feeding Dosage: For oral administration. Adults and children over 12 years: Take one to two tablets after meals and at bedtime. Children 6 to 12 years: Take one tablet after meals and at bedtime. Children 2 to 6 years: As directed by your doctor. Infants: Not recommended.
Chew thoroughly before swallowing. Before taking this product: Each tablet contains 2.04 mmol of sodium. If you have been advised to follow a low sodium (salt) diet ask your doctor before taking this product. These tablets contain aluminium hydroxide. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you suffer from kidney problems or low blood phosphate levels. These tablets also contain xylitol which may very rarely cause a laxative effect. Do not take if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients as very rarely difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you experience these or any other side - effects.
The tablets also contain mannitol (E421), calcium carbonate, xylitol (E967), povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium saccharin and lemon flavouring.
What are these tablets? Each chewable tablet contains 500mg alginic acid Ph Eur, 170mg sodium bicarbonate Ph Eur, 100mg aluminium hydroxide gel Ph Eur and 25mg magnesium trisilicate Ph Eur as the active ingredients
