Uses: For the effective treatment of sudden short-lived (acute) attacks of diarrhoea. It works by making the stools more solid and less frequent. For oral use. Swallow whole with a drink of water.

Dose: Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: 2 capsules to be taken initially, followed by 1 capsule after each loose motion, up to a maximum of 8 capsules in any 24 hours.

The capsules also contain Lactose, Maize Starch, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Gelatin and the colours Quinoline Yellow (E104), Erythrosine (E127), Patent Blue (E131) And Titanium Dioxide (E171).

Each capsule contains Loperamide Hydrochloride2mgasthe active ingredient.

Do not use after the expiry date printed on the carton and blister foil. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Do not exceed the stated dose. if you take too many capsules seek medical attention. f symptoms persist consult your doctor. Use should not exceed 24 hours unless advised by your doctor. If symptoms persist beyond 24 hours consult your doctor. Further investigation into the cause of diarrhoea should be considered if there is no improvement within 2 days of starting treatment. Please note that these capsules relieve the symptoms of diarrhoea only and should not be used as a substitute for rehydration treatment. Do not take these capsules if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed; or if you suffer from inflammation of the bowel (ulcerative or pseudo membranous colitis). This product also contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product. Check with your doctor before taking IF you have liver disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Occasionally side effects can occur with this product, these include stomach pain, tiredness, dizziness, dry mouth, and allergic reactions e.g. skin rashes.
